Brides can find affordable but elegant options, says local jewelry expert
With weddings costing, on average, over $20,000, today’s brides are looking for ways to save money and have found one through at-home jewelry parties, says Erin Dziados, Independant Sales Advisor for lia sophia of Middletown, NY.
“By hosting an in-home jewelry show, brides can find not only traditional or trendy jewelry for themselves but can end up saving hundreds of dollars on their bridesmaid gifts,” Erin Dziados said.
“Necklaces can be timeless gifts that are both functional and affordable,” Erin says.
Layered strands of cream white pearls is a traditional wedding classic and always a welcome gift that never goes out of style.
“There's a reason that pearls are a popular wedding day gift, they are beautiful and they can be worn for so many different occasions,” Dziados said.
For a trendier look that can flatter many skin tones, try a strand of colored pearls in shades such as pale pink, champagne or amber. Ribbon style or cascading necklaces that mix gemstones or glass are also popular this year. For a cost effective gift, try an invisible wire necklace with beads or other decorations.
Pay attention to the neckline of the dress and don’t pick a color that can overwhelm the dresses, Dziados said.
“First, the necklace should complement and enhance the dress by combining nicely with the neckline and the frame of the face,” Dziados said.
If a dress is heavily embellished, with beadwork for example, choose a simple necklace that isn't overpowering,” Dziados said.
Don't overlook junior bridesmaids or flower girls when it comes to gift giving, as well.
“Remember the younger girls with a silver angel or a colorful cut crystal butterfly pendant on a chain,” says Dziados.
